making things easy
Hi,
Does Clo3d have these options to make things easy in making the design?

@ymca, Pable Quintana, vadsura,
Firstly, thank you for the heated discussion here! I see there are some points I would like to clarify.
- Does CLO have 3D design tools?
- Yes!! We have 3D Pen tool! Please take a look at below video
https://youtu.be/Fdh9d9uJTHs
- And here are related manuals:
https://support.clo3d.com/hc/en-us/sections/115000642168-3D-Design
- Link with Illustrator
- Although it is not a direct link, you can export patterns from CLO > add engineered graphics in AI > import back to CLO as texture.

- How CLO generates quadrangular mesh and why.
- I would like to explain why sometimes CLO’s quadrangular meshes are not perfect as it seems in V-stitcher. CLO generates triangular meshes first and then combine them to generate quadrangular meshes when user changes the setting. We chose triangular mesh as our default mesh structure due to following reasons:
- triangular mesh has better accuracy in Simulation
- triangular mesh is better at emulating fabrics’ warp, weft, shear/bias
- triangular mesh is more capable to express irregularities of fabric drape.
- Although we are aware of quadrangular meshes’ benefit in 3D rendering, we are confident that triangular meshes are better suited for garment simulation.

- Alvanon avatars in CLO
- CLO is compatible with Alvanon avatars as we provide file format bespoke to Alavnon 3D dummies. However, in order to use the Avalnon avatars, you would need to contact and purchase directly from Alvanon. Please check here: https://abp.alvanon.com/
- Avatar Editor
- Our Avatar Editor is to be upgraded in CLO 5.0. You will be able to put specific measurements to avatars, enabling wide range of customization.
- Sweater 3D visualization
- Thank you for sharing the video. It looks amazing. We are looking into ways to enable sweater simulation in CLO. Thanks for a great reference.

Nice feature. I don't think CLO has this option in 3D window. You can certainly do this, but in more steps.
CLO, please take note.

And the Mash is at the right quadrangles. Which is good for rendering.
And a link with a illustrator of UV. There's a lot of good stuff.And the alvanon avatars they use. We were promised support, but no one wants to give avatars. Sell the same do not want.
Sad.Clo chase, do not fall behind!

This is cool
Sooo modular this avatar :O

Also found this cool video but don't know what program can do this or if it can be done in garment programs.

Thank you, Erica, for the prompt response.
All the positive moments of the clo we know. Not for nothing, this is the most popular, well-known simulation program. Together with the Marvelous designer.
We just want our beloved clo to get even better.
I think you understand us.1 -
Dear vadsura,
Thank you for the kind note! Of course we highly appreciate your feedback and input! We can wanted to clarify some points that you can maximize CLO usage!

I was just just wondering about how it looks simple in the video.
But I guess most videos seems easy and in reality it's more complicated.
Thanks for the explanations Erica.0 -
You heard me. Hope this will add to the clo? Not only in MD?

@vadsura,
Thanks for being updated! I have let our UX team aware of your feedback! Thanks :)

Thanks Erica, this is a really useful feature. It will make life easier for everyone. It is very convenient to export to ZBrush and then do it beautifully with a beautiful grid.

@vadsura very nice option to have :)
I have another option that will make things easier but I cannot show it without a video.
Is there a way to send "mp4" or just "gif"?0 -
@ymka
If I understand correctly, then you want to adjust the value in the digital field by moving the mouse?
This feature is already in the clo. Select the digital field and rotate the mouse wheel.0 -
@vadsura,
I have a feedback from our developer. The Remeshing feature has been added to MD first due to the high demand from MD users. However, after it is tested in MD, this will be added to CLO in the future! Please hang tight :)

@vadsura
I see...
But I think that that way makes more strain to the tendons of the hand.
The moving the mouse way is less strain and can also be faster if there is a need.0 -
@vadsura
I don't know if this is a problem or something else...
When I want to rotate a segment, I select it.
But when I want to rotate 2 segments at once, I select the first one and then the other but then the gizmo disappears.How can I rotate 2 things at once?

Means 3d view? Is this segment a piece of clothing (pattern tamplate)? Just click again on the pattern to select the axis of rotation ( gizmo).
In order for the gizmo to be centered, select the frame patterns in the 2D window.
