How to finish binding edges

Hi runwaykit3. When that happens what I do is I rather do it manually. I will offset as internal line to the width of what you want the binding to be. Then, I will select that internal line and Cut & Sew that piece. You can use that piece and increase the add'l thickness so it looks like binding, or you can take the cut pieces and use Layer Clone Under to create a double layer.

I prefer the first option. Let me know if it works or if you need more help.

There is the trace as pattern tool that allows you to click on the internal and pattern edges that define a closed polygon shape (eg: binding for neck/armhole) > then it will create a pattern (binding) to fit that exact area, without having to split any of the main patterns.

You should then apply seam tape to that binding edge at a thickness and type to stop the neckline and armhole pattern from stretching due to any weave fabric bias on the pattern.
