HOW TO: Create & Save Custom Views for Presentations & Line Sheets
Hi All,
Creating Custom Views for Rendering, Snapshots, & Presentations is pretty easy. They can also be saved and used again in any file.
[PART 1] SETTING UP MY CLO FILE FOR RENDERING
1. Hide Avatar (Shift + A)
2. Use the Hi-Res Garment Tool to make your 3D Garment high quality
3. High-Res Garment Settings
These are my preferred settings, the defaults make the skin offset 0.0 (which I sometimes think can be too low and cause collision with the avatar). In addition, I un-check changing the Simulation quality because I'm using the fabric from the CLO Library and I don't plan on physically creating this garment - thus a more accurate version of the Simulation is unnecessary for me.
4. Simulate
After boosting the resolution, you'll need to simulate the garment again to apply the changes.
[PART 2] CREATING AND RENDERING CUSTOM VIEWS
Set Custom Views (Optional Addition - Check Views against render settings)
For this example, since my renders are the most important part of the setup, I'm going to set my image output size before setting up my custom views.
I'm going to render each view at 4"x6" @ 300 PPI
1. Open Render Preview Window
2. Start the Render Preview
Click on the Render Window or Click the "Interactive Render" button to start the preview.
3. Set your Image Size
3a. Click on the Image/Video Properties Tool
3b. Change the Image Size to a Paper Preset
3c. Adjust to the size and resolution you want
4. Open the Custom View Window
right-click in the 3D Window Background and select "Custom Views"
5. Create Views
For this, I'm going to rely on my render preview, each time I have a view I like, I'll click the Custom View Camera Icon
Pro Tip: If you hold SHIFT while you rotate, you will lock the vertical axis to avoid any accidental tilting.
6. Rename the Views
I like to name views so they are easy to organize and open later. To rename the Views, double click / long click on the Custom_View_X name in your Custom View Menu.
7. Render All Custom Views
To render all your Custom Views, navigate to your Image/Video Render Properties > Viewpoint > Custom Views
8. Render
Change any other rendering / lighting settings (more info about rendering here, here, & here), and Click the "Final Render" Tool
[PART 3] REUSING CUSTOM VIEWS IN OTHER PRESENTATIONS
1. Save Custom Views
In the Custom View Menu, click Save All. Navigate to the folder you want to save them to, and click Select Folder.
2. Add Views to other files
Open other file (File > Open > Project [Ctrl + O])
Right-click in the 3D Window Background to Open the Custom View Menu. Then click the open button.
3. Select all views from the folder where you saved your custom views, and click "Open"
4. Views are in there & you can render them however you want or make adjustments just to this file!
Good luck!

Bless you, Amy. This is EXACTLY what I was looking for. You were the needle in my haystack!
