How to sew edge stitch to create a crease

Hello all! 

I want to create a crease in the front of my shorts (as like the photo reference below). I tried to create 3 internal lines, then fold and sew the outer two lines together like the edge stitch (screenshot attached below). However, the sewing connection isn't strong enough... I also set up the sewing line type to be turned but that didn't seem to help... I would love to hear to some suggestions on this issue. Thank you very much!

  Make sure your center line is set to Fold Rendering-On, Fold Angle-0 and turn up the fold strength to something like 60.  Don't extend your fold and seam lines right to the edge of your pattern at the waist or you will have instability in your simulation- drop them a mm or two below the waist seam.  Strengthen your pieces and use the fold arrange tool if you are having problems with the seam itself
