Sofware Log in ID window does not recognise touchtype

When on the I'd and password window, my windows surface does not recognise TouchType , so I a not able to type my id. Can't login. I am hoping it is a security issue...  Maybe?

  This is because CLO software is not optimized for touch-type devices such as your MS Surface laptop.

  If possible, please use hardware keyboard and 3-button mice.
