Hello karti, thanks for your inquiry! There are several reasons why your CLO file could be running slowly. Here are some considerations:

    - If there is more than 1 garment in your workspace, try to break them up into separate project files. It is better to work on them separately and layer only when rendering.

    - If your garment is complex, the simulation will run slower regardless of particle distance, but should not be running so slowly that you are unable to edit. Make sure that all extraneous pattern pieces are deactivated or deleted.

    - Texture and normal map image size: if you have placed your own textures and/or normal maps in your fabrics and graphics, check their file size. If they are very large, try making them smaller, or at a minimum temporarily deleting them to drop the file size.

    - Finally, if you have not restarted your computer in a while, you may try that as well.

karti, can you check that all your pieces are 20 mm or so in particle distance? Maybe some of the pieces are very high density.
