Help please with a turned seam. I have tried almost everything.
Hi guys. I've been banging my head with this turned seam. There was a post where the guys at CLO shared how to make a bag with a turned seam. In that case the surfaces were 180 degrees of each other. In this case there are three surfaces at 90 degrees each. The reference image is below and the project file can be found at:
www.clo-set.com/Item/Index/c2b177c327be4918b5ca453e61cb390d
Here is what I've tried:
1. Using seam line property Fold Angle at 360 degrees. Result is a bloated piece.
2. Adding an internal offset line and then using the Folding Tool to turn the surfaces inward. It goes crazy when simulating.
3. Pining the small panel and then turning the fold angle to 360 degrees to avoid bloating. Even at 3 mm particle distance, the surface creaks too much at the mesh tris.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

@pablo quintana, let me check this with our bag design experts tomorrow and get back to you asap!

Thanks Erica and Vadsura. Looking forward to see what the experts say.
Meanwhile, in case any one reads this post in the future, I managed to solve it this way:
1. I changed the side panels (the longer panels) fabric preset to a softer setting. The reason for the bloating is that the fabric had a very stiff setting.
2. This created another problem, and is that while folding the seams inwards, the longer edge started to curve as the fabric stretched. I solved that by creating a frame using the same fabric frozen. This helped the maintain the same shape. Look at the images below.
I hope this helps someone in the future.

@Pablo Quintana, I tried to create the folded seam with the file you shared without changing the material setting.
And I got a result like below:
Instead of just folding the ellipse pattern, I also folded the rectangular pattern. Please look at the edited pattern below:
I also used the Fold Arrangement tool to fold the sides before simulation.
I hope this helps!

Thanks @Erica. Can you show how are the seams sewn? Did you cut the "drop" shaped piece?

Hello Everybody
I think the one I created looks close to the turned seam pouch, and hope this helps.
I combine the collar to Gusset instead fold it.
Add thickness to body 5, and gusset 4, at the end give pressure 5-6 to Gusset.

you are awesome Kazuyo!

@pablo, by "drop" shaped pattern you mean this one, right?
I simply cut and sew it from the original pattern!!
For sewing lines, I sew the inner outline of the hollow pattern to the Internal line of the rectangular pattern.
