DAZ Avatars/poses in Clo
Hi everyone,
Great to see that you enable converting DAZ avatars into CLO. However the conversion doesn't seem to be all complete. Not all body parts are converted properly. There are weird shapes underneath the arms and other parts and there are cuts, and when you apply a clo pose to them other weird things happen to the body parts. In addition looks like we cannot apply any of the fbx poses imported from DAZ to the converted avatars. It doesn't recognize them. It is definitely good option to be able to resize but as long as the body pieces aren't converted well and DAZ poses cannot be applied the use case is very limited. Would be great if you guys could improve the quality of conversion and also enable DAZ fbx poses to be applied to the converted avatars.
Thank you

Hello narabanisf,
Thanks for the feedback! This is a newer feature, so we are still developing it further! As far as using poses from DAZ, the avatar converter is giving an avatar the CLO rig, so you will only be able to use the poses and motion from the CLO library. If you want to use DAZ poses in CLO, you can do the following:
- Export the Avatar from DAZ as and OBJ with the textures/etc.
- Change the pose in DAZ and export as FBX. The settings depend on a lot of factors, but we recommend to export in Binary SDK version 2010
- IMPORT the FBX file in a blank CLO document, then save as a POSE (File, Save As, Pose).
- Close CLO document, do not save
- IMPORT Avatar OBJ into blank CLO document.
- Apply new pose as normal.

Thank you! Appreciate the feedback and glad to hear you are going to develop further. I am able to import the poses as fbx and apply to the DAZ avatar if I do not convert the standard DAZ avatar into a clo avatar. I was only wondering if we can apply those poses to the converted avatar, it looks like we cannot right now. I am hoping you'll enable this in the future.

Hi narabanisf,
No problem! Yes that's correct, DAZ poses cannot be applied to CLO avatars because they are using different rigging, so at the moment you must choose between CLO and DAZ rigging :)

Thank you, Appreciate it. when I convert the DAZ avatar to clo size editable version I do see that I can change the avatar sit/fit based on what is in the library. But what about the garment fitting with auto grading? e.g. I just tried to apply auto grading on a previously constructed garment to fit it on to the converted avatar but it doesn't work. Do garments need to be developed on this converted avatar in order for autograding to be applicable?
