Dress with fabric straps falls off body when simulated

I've created a loose fitting dress with fabric straps. I've sewn the garment together, including the strap ends to the bodice, but when i simulate the garment falls to the floor and the simulation freaks out, but i don't understand why.

It feels like either;

- i need to get the strap to wrap around the avatar's shoulder when placing the piece on the avatar before simulation?

or

- the straps need to simulate before the rest of the dress does so that the straps are strong enough to support the rest of the dress?

  hi pitthefem , 

  a screenshot woul'd help to understand your problem and help you.
  A few tips for the straps, mesh 5, the give to the side of the straps pattern the elastic property with a ratio of 100. This help the straps to mantain the original measure.

  I usually give the the bond proterty too.
  
  This is what I can suggest, but, is always good to attach a picture for this type of question.
