increase rectangle length without altering pins?

I would like to increase the length of a rectangle line without the pins shifting, and the overall rectangle shifting. is there a way to do that?

  I don't think that is possible. Why would you want that?

  I am creating new lace but I need to make the strands longer. when I go to increase the length using the edit pattern tool, it falls apart.

  You can try selecting the edge you want to make longer and right click to use the Offset Pattern Outline to make it larger, instead of stretching the pieces of fabric. This way adds instead of stretches the pieces.
