Adding Seam Allowance as an Internal Line Instead of External
Hi All,
Hoping my question has a simple answer. I imported a pattern that had seam allowance already built-in. I need to add the seam allowance reference line but every time I click to add seam allowance it is adding it as an external line and increasing my pattern instead of adding it as an internal reference line. I feel like this should be a simple but can't figure it out.
Thanks!

Hi Lori. If you are importing from a DXF-AAMA or DXF-ASTM file that has the seam allowance clearly defined, then my suggestion is that you select the option to Swap Cutting Line and Sewing Line so you get rid of the seam allowance inside CLO. That way you can put the 3D shapes together without needing to remove the seam allowances manually.
After you are done, you will need to manually add the seam allowance inside CLO so you can export again in case you've done any modifications to the patterns.
Can you explain further what are you trying to do in your workflow?

Hi Pablo,
Clo is not able to pick up the seam allowance or notches from the file I imported. Or the pattern was never given seam allowance or notches. I'm not sure which. I need to add the notches and need to walk the pattern along the seam lines to place correctly. Do I need to manually remove the seam allowance from the pattern and then re-add in Clo do accomplish what I need to?
I was really hoping I could just create the seam allowance as an internal line instead of it moving outward.
