Best Mac chip compatibility for CLO3D
Hello,
I am looking to purchase a new Macbook Pro, and would like to make sure the computer is optimal for CLO3D use. I was looking for some advise as to which of the new chips would work best with ClO3D (M1, M1 pro, or M1 max). I assume M2 chips are too new, and might still have issues working with CLO3D? Also please help recommend minimum needs for memory, storage, core GPU and CPU.
Will CLO3D work as well and as fast with the new Mac chip options, as recommended with the NVIDIA chip for PC? I need to use a Mac for other programs, so ideally i would not need to purchase a PC just for optimal CLO3d use.
thank you
Janet

Thank you for your response. I would like to get a macbook Pro, so the options would be between M2(13"), M1pro(14") within a reasonable budget. From the below options, can you advise if M1/M2 chip, or CPU/GPU core amount is having a big effect on the program? Or if the below if one is significantly better for large Clo3d files, this is not mentioned on the link you shared.
-13" with M2, 8core CPU, 10core GPU and 16core Neutral engine
-14" with M1 pro, 8core CPU, 14core GPU and 16core Neutral engine
-14" with M1 pro, 10core CPU, 14core GPU and 16core Neutral engine
-14" with M1 pro, 10core CPU, 16core GPU and 16core Neutral engine
thank you

janet.braunstein You are on the right track with either the M1 Pro or the M2. Either one will prove a worthy solution. Make sure you add as much RAM as you can afford.
