Annotation, Print layout, & Grading Suggests
Annotation: To be able to scale the size of the annotation or use a specific font size to use, especially in Print Layout mode. Sometimes print is too hard to see.
Print Layout:
- Make sure that the information i.e.( size, pattern name, fabric type (self/ contrast/ fusing) ,number to be cut) fits inside of the pattern. Or at least have the option to edit it. ( yes, it can be done in illustrator but to stay in one program for something very simple would be ideal)
- Patterns need to have Size Labels especially after a garment has been graded and multiple sizes are to be printed. It helps with organization after cutting out
- To print out specific sizes a in a certain amount ex:
- garment is graded XS-XL but only print out 2-XS / 1-L / 3-M
- When rotating a pattern the grain line should rotate with it. Or have the option to edit / customize if the grain line rotates with the pattern or not. There are occasions where the pattern needs to rotate at a weird angle to have optimum paper usage because
- 1) the less space wasted the less the print out is going to cost
- 2) the pattern pieces are going to be cut out then laid on the fabric instead of laying print out directly over the fabric ( yes some people like to work this way) so the grain line needs to rotate with the pattern so when they cut it out it will be correct.
Grading: to Make , Save and Edit custom grade rules in CLO would be great. Chiefly, the save option, so a grade rule can be apply form one garment to another

Totally agree with shakeia13

Agreed ! Especially the pattern annotation editing, that should be a basic feature.

Totally agree with shakeia13. These are important requirements as we work towards garments in real life.
Note - cannot see where to vote for

Hi petiteivou
thank you for your feedback. We are always working to improve CLO. There is no voting on our forums, but we do forward on suggestions to our Dev team

Would like to add my support the request on this forum too, as I came looking for help with print layout today -
As well as adding a size label on to the piece print,
Could I request that the scale and placement of text on export to pdf is also looked at? The annotations/comments on patterns are printing off the pieces, although they look to be sited in the centre of the pieces in simulation view, and pattern piece names are not scaled, often too large for smaller pieces, they come out missing or being cut off in the pdf print
Thank you0 -
agree with all of the above!
