Format 2d background not working for me
I wondered if anyone else was having a similar problem, since the latest update I can't use an image to format the background of the 2D window (also not working on the 3D window but I don't normally use that so I don't know whether that behaviour is new).
I'm using CLO 5.1.436 on the Mac (OS is Catalina) graphics card is Radeon Pro 560X
I have used the image file I want to put in the background with previous versions of Clo and I can use other textures for fabrics etc, so I'm guessing it's not a file format problem or a graphics card problem).
Thanks,
Adam

Hi Falmouth, I never used this option, for the 2d window, and rarely for the 3d window too.
I checked them out and both work , same Clo version ( Win10, I7-9700k, graphic card GTX 2080ti )

Hi Daniele,
It's useful (for me) to add a rough guide pattern from a jpeg to draw over. I've just tested it on same computer and same file with an older version of Clo, (5.1.3...) and it's working as expected with that version so I guess it's a bug.
In your experience, where's the best place to report a bug?
Thank you,

Hi Falmouth, probably the section product feedback.
For now you can create a rectangle big enough to contain your jpg image and then draw the pattern as internal line into the rectagle itself the extract it as pattern using the trace tool.
A little longer probably. Just a way to solve your problem for now, waiting for a better solution.

Hi Daniele,
I will be reverting to that method for now :)
Thanks again,

Hi, I have version 7 of CLO and the same problem with the 2D window. With other versions, I had no problems but now with the latest update clicking on the right button I do not see the option to add image to background.
I have tried danielemanassero´s solution but doing this, image is only displayed in 3d window. It exists another way to do add an images to 2D window?
Is it possible that my graphics card is not powerful enough to handle the program? I have other problems like not being able to see thickness changes in patterns and other visual effects so I think the problem is the graphic card but I am not sure. Thanks and best regards.

HI f5313513. All you need to do is R-Click in the grey area and select Add Background Image. See below. I also found a video HERE that shows the process. IF you are not seeing this option can you add a screenshot of what you do see?
For seeing pattern piece thickness you must make sure that you are on Thick Textured Surface on the 3D Vertical Toggle. Seeing/not seeing this is not related to the graphics card as long as your computer can run CLO. Some computers cannot Render certain things if the specs are not good enough. You can check our recommended Specs page HERE
