Various Question on project: Beaded-Embroidery, Wool-Crepe Fabric & Facing
Hello,
I am new to Clo3D (only been using for about 4 weeks). I've been learning the software via the YouTube Foundations Course as well as some trial and error. Most recently, I have been working on a 1940s Schiaparelli Dress from Janet Arnold's Patterns of Fashion 2 and I've hit a few road blocks! I could really use some help! If anyone has any insight to the following questions, I would greatly appreciate it!
1) The facing (particularly in the back) isn't laying flat or neatly. I've tried adding bonding & strengthening, adding a taffeta- flatlining ,playing with decreasing the pressure, changing the mesh-shape, but nothing seems to be helping. Any suggestions?
2) The dress is meant to be Wool-Crepe. I watched the YouTube Materials Video and fiddled around with the fabric setting but it's looking more like velvet then wool-crepe. Any suggestions?
3) I applied the beaded-embroidery as a graphic but now it needs dimension. (I tried and tried to apply/stitch it on top to no avail. I kept running into problems because it crosses the CF seam) Can I add dimension to a flat-graphic?

Hey kp.
For starters I believe your dress has too high particle distance. You should reduce it to around 5 mm to see a closer to real life draping. For your facing not laying flat, check this post:

It definitely looks like velvet, so maybe you are using the velvet fabric setting instead of a matte fabric setting. Can you show what you are using in the textures session?
