Looks like the grain lines in the plt file are not sitting on the patterns.

What plotter print driver are you using ? And then what plot viewing software are you using ? It could be that the plot viewer software is not showing what will plot out (could be a poor interpolation of the plot export from CLO3D)  .... but hard to say unless another person checks your .plt file on their CAD system.

I would try to open that .plt file in another CAD software and see how it looks so you can rule out your plot viewing software.

I have experienced the same issue when plotting on both a Gerber plotter and a Graphtec plotter, the grain lines are all misplaced and odd triangles are printed at one side of the paper. I printed a shirt collar and collar stand and it pushed out 3m of paper ^_^'
I tried exporting it both as a PLT file and as a dxf into Gerber where I had to manually put all the grain lines back into place. So seems to be something with how CLO exports the patterns files. Hopefully this is something that CLO can look into for future updates.

I don't seem to get this problem. (PC)

Do you have Grain-lines selected when you export ? It could be a gerber import thing. Are you checking your import options for layer items within the dxf.ASTM/AAMA from within gerber. You might need to set a custom gerber preset for import.

I'm using CLO on a Mac and then transferring the file to a PC to plot. I tried to disable the grain lines and it didn't print the grain lines but still printed odd little triangles at one side of the paper for like 2 meters when exporting as a PLT file from CLO and putting it directly in the plot queue of the plotter.

Thanks Ottoline, I'll check if I can tweak the ASTM/AAMA import settings in Gerber.

ottoline could you advise on what plotter you are using? I have been reading your comments regarding plotting and it seems like you are very experienced in using clo with plotters.

Looking into getting one and saw the Graphtec CE-6000AP is recommended here on the forum, but also read a few people are unable to get this working. So I am looking for a recommendation from someone who has a plotter that they are successfully using with clo.

Ideally being able to plot directly from clo without exporting first, and also plotting markers?

    thank you!

Contact CLO3D support directly and ask them would be my recommendation regarding compatible hardware. Generally I use systems that are heavily customised inhouse at a cost, as I also make my own hardware so I am not your typical off the shelf user. So for standard machines get the list direct from CLO3D.
