Opacity Maps and Back Side of Fabric
I'm trying to understand how to apply an opacity map when both the front and back of the fabric will show. I've managed to apply a map with a section of complete transparency on the front of the fabric, but from the back the fabric only looks transparent in the simulation window. On render it is solid. I had left the fabric with back side the same as front selected. It seems instead, I need to apply a distinct opacity map to the back (presumably a mirrored one). Before I experiment, is there something I'm missing? If CLO knows how to simulate the opacity I intended, shouldn't it also render this way?

Hi jne4sl, thank you for sharing your question. It is not necessary to add an additional Opacity Map for the back side. Please double check if your material back is the same as the front. Otherwise try to create a new material and add the Opacity Map again and see if you are facing the same problem. If this still happens feel free to share a screenshot of the Property Editor of the Material (front and back) with us, as well as the 3D Window and the render.

Thanks, that's what had happened. The back side was activated but no changes had been made. I guess it was really the simulation image that confused me, it was showing opacity on the back side that matched the front side, but on render the back was opaque (because the back fabric was not identical). Got it now.
