Support or workarounds for a Genesis 2 Avatar

Trying to figure out a workflow for creating/fitting clothing in CLO, fit to a Daz Genesis 2 shaped Avatar, as that is the final fit I need to export as.

It's easy enough to get a Genesis 2 model into CLO, but if I try to convert it to an Avatar I end up with the "must be a pre-registered Avatar" error when trying to drape clothing to it. I can import a Genesis 8 Avatar and convert it just fine, but that's not the right fit.

Anyone have any insight?
