How to add binding finishing to Cuff slit
Hi Everyone ,
Could someone help me replicate a binding finishing at cuff vent/slit ... please see below pic for reference
-
This is sewn by apply a bias binding to a slash. At the ends near the cuff, the seam allowance is binding width, but tapers to a minimum near the end of the slash. The inside fold of the binding is sewn shut with a small diagonal line, this is hidden inside the sleeve.
So, mark a slash and essentially cut away a dart of binding width around that. Create a strip twice the length of the dart. This can be simulated with a strip of single width, or constructed with a strip of double width with a fold. I did the double layer. The key to getting things to fall into position is setting fold angles, and setting sublayers for some of the sewing.
I replaced the tower placket in the supplied dress shirt with the simplified placket.
