'Optimise for High Resolution Display' user interface issues

The Library panel being too wide you can move the panel to the size of your liking by dragging the edge. I believe this occurs as Clo will auto scale for the resolution of the monitor. The Font setting it can be changed in the UI settings dialog. https://support.clo3d.com/hc/en-us/articles/360001547128-User-Interface

However if the Clo UI settings do not solve all the issues you might need to change the scale in your OS properties to be able to view applications and text better on high resolution displays.. I wrote the process on how to do this for both Windows 10 and Mac OS in the Q&A forum at https://support.clo3d.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360029377974/comments/360004996374

I don't think there is a way to save custom user workspaces or at least I haven't found the option yet.

    Hi ikafx,

Thanks for your reply! What I'm highlighting is user interface issues, essentially bugs, in CLO. I've already set the CLO interface to support high resolution displays. At college we would be unable to change the screen resolution each time we switch to CLO - CLO should accommodate the high resolution display correctly.

The text in the Library panel is the correct size until the mouse rolls over and then it shrinks to a very small size - this is a bug.

The library pane is adjustable but won't shrink beyond a certain amount, it's still too wide - this is an area for improvement.

The layout in the Property editor is not optimised for the size of the font in the high resolution display - the contents of the field are too big to be displayed within the field.

    Best, Peter

Sorry I totally misread the original post.

I do agree the library panel does seem to have a fixed minimum width. I think the minimum should be just a bit wider than 2 or 3 icons. That way it isn't too small that causes the feeling of infinite scrolling but wide enough that it doesn't get in the way when you want to have it open.

I didn't mean change the resolution of the display to accommodate Clo. I meant to change the scaling to something over 100%. On High resolution displays the font and icons will appear to become smaller as the resolution increases. For example the icons and font on a display with 1920x1200 are the same size on a display that is 3840x2160 but they just appear smaller. The scaling feature in the OS display settings scales the icons and text on screen to accommodate for the higher resolution. So 125% scaling increases the icon and text 25% beyond 100% so it is easier for humans to see and read. If an application doesn't override the OS in the GUI then the application text will fluidly change based on the OS scaling setting.

I suspect I know what is causing the roll over bug. When "Support for high resolution display" is enabled it is doing a dynamic scaling from within Clo. But when the roll over occurs on the text for whatever reason it is causing the feature to be disabled and the text defaults to the normal size based on the OS scaling setting which makes the text appear really small.

I did a Google search on this problem and it appears Adobe has been having this issue for 5K displays as well. In their forums for Windows they suggested turning off the high resolution setting in the application (back to normal 100%) close the application. Then in Windows explorer navigate to the application file and right click on the application and go to Properties > Compatibility > Change high DPI Settings > Override high DPI scaling behavior > System Enhanced. You might have to play with the settings to get it to display correctly until Clo fixes the bug.
