Avatars in 5.0 - Changes
CLO TEAM,
about the Avatar.... (?) why are the old avatars A & B not editable? Do users know this? What if you are working on Avatar B in size 12 for all your projects and you switch to 5.0 will users be savvy enough to use Avatars from the previous version? Is there an article about this.
1- Mara - custom Avatar is not in the correct pose and has no sub subsequent poses other than hands to the side, will this change? are we forced now to create our own poses?
2- The look of the Avatar is crucial... CRUCIAL. Not all body types or skin variation shades (etc) are available Now we are forced to use Mara imagery? Will you be able to change her skin, underwear, shoes, and hair?
3- Sizing of the Avatar is crucial... what are we to do if we cannot change the Avatar size? PERHAPS... there will be 6 new Avatars all editable???
New A & New A Plus Size
New B & New B Plus Size
New C ,& New C Plus Size
(I suggest Plus size Avatar so you can start from a more proportioned plus shape as the size up is distorted even on Mara.
All editable with shoes and hair... right? Please shed some light for us all

Hey Dorelle :) Thanks for the feedback. Please find my answers below:
A good news is that both Avatar A&B will be editable in our official version of 5.0. Therefore, you would be able to use our default avatars without worrying about the avatar compatibility between ver 4.2 and 5.0.
Although the poses for our new avatars: Mara and Thomas are currently limited, more of them will be added to CLO ver.5.1.0 along with hair variations :) Before then, you can change avatars' skin by editing their texture map. (reference: https://support.clo3d.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360000881608-Avatar-Tan-lines)
Also, I would like to inform you that in CLO 5.0, there will be six editable avatars: current A & B both female and male avatars, and the new ones that were added to the beta version: Mara and Thomas. I would also like to clarify that the image of the six avatars you shared above are the ones provided in Marvelous Designer, not CLO :)
Lastly, I would like to address on the plus size issue. As we have stated in our manual, the new avatar size editor is powered by thousands of real 3D body scan data. We can decrease the distortion of the plus size avatars by increasing the plus size body scan data. Although this is possible, but we do not have a specific date for the improvement as a rigorous research on the data collection needs to be done before hand.
Again, thank you for your feedback :) we truly appreciate it!

Hi Erica,
You mentioned that both avatars A & B will editable in the official version 5.0. I have version 5.0 234 and I can't edit my A & B avatars.
Am I missing something? or do I still need to edit them in 4.2?
Thanks :)0 -
Erica,
Will A & B avatars be editable like the new Mara avatar in 5.1 version?
