Single Seam around an arm

HI @rjbtsim, in your case flatten doesn't work because there is just one line in the lenght section,I think clo must have a start line and an ending line for each side of the new piece.

I tried to replicate your case drawing two parallel lines in the lenght section and close the draw up and down. It works.

After, you can enlarge the piece the value of the empty space.

Hi @danielemanassero, thanks for your answer.

Just to clarify, do you mean to draw 2 parallel lines, then only flatten the larger area, increase the size of the 2D pattern to account for the gap created then sew the edges together?

    Yes, you got it.

Just one more thing. Is there a way to ensure the pattern has the same dimensions at each edge so that the seam length is the same?

Drawing directly on the avantar it's impossible , in my opinion. I saw in your picture that you did it very well.

I didn't post a picture of my attemp becasue it was so weird compared to yours!!

Anyway, you can adjust the patter after have flattened it in the same way you can trasform every patterns, points, lines in 2D window.

    Daniele.

    u guys are awesome!

one another solution could be drawing a line in front of the arm > flatten into two pieces > merge them together (sorry for the ugly patterns below :( )
