Importing from AI

I am importing some very simple shapes from Illustrator and am getting this message:

"There are pattern points that are too close together. Please adjust the scale and try again."

I have already cleaned up stray points, and paths so that there are as few points as possible. 

Any help would be welcome.

  Have you checked that all points are "closed" to complete the shapes?

  Could you add am image/screen shot from Ai

  I have checked that all points are closed. 

  Added an image that shows points are closed.

  Thank you for sharing. Have you also made sure that all points are Connected and not just overlapping?

  When importing are you going to File > Import > Adobe Ai?

  If the above does not work you can also save the art board as a Jpeg. Then import and apply the jpeg and a graphic onto a large pattern piece. Then use Internal Polygon tool to "trace" over the desired shape and clone as a pattern piece
