Should all Normal Maps have the same direction?
I am working with the UV editor and I have noticed that my normal maps from front and back are in different directions. Is that normal or should I flip one to the other side? I have generated the normal maps in Photoshop using the same actions, thus I am not sure why one is inverted.
Could someone explain what I did wrong?
Thank you!

Hello dan97,
It may be due to the grain direction on the front and back. In pattern pieces have the same grain direction and they are reflected, the normal maps will appear inverted, which is normal. You can check the grain direction angle on each pattern piece by selecting the pattern piece and looking under the Fabric section in the Property Editor. If you input opposite grains, like 0 and 180, one will get flipped if you want it to be that way! The biggest difference will be in Print Layout mode, the piece will get flipped to reflect the change in grain line.
