Question
What has changed in the Colorway Editor in CLO 7.3?
Answer
In CLO 7.3, creating colorways has become more diverse and easier compared to previous versions. You can now create colorways with increased variety, similar to actual colorways. The specific changes include:
The number of each item can increase as much as the number of colorways, and by default, only the selected items are displayed in the Object Browser.
ℹ️Note: Check out the entire colorway workflow in the manual or on YouTube.
1️⃣ Create more colorways by adding various items with different properties such as texture, buttons, topstitching, etc.
In previous versions, adding items with different properties was not possible, limited to changing textures and colors only. However, starting from CLO 7.3, properties like texture, types, and sizes of buttons can be edited.
2️⃣ Manage identical items across different colorways
When using certain items with the same properties across multiple colorways, you can now change all properties across those colorways by modifying just one item.
3️⃣ When applying each item (Fabric, Graphics, Buttons, Buttonholes, Topstitching, Puckering, Accessories) to a pattern, you can choose how they will be applied to the colorway. * Latest Updated on February 22, 2024, ver 7.3.240.46861
See the examples below and make your own selections as needed. You can learn how to apply each item here.
A. Assign to the current colorway only
This option is used when you want to apply different variations to selected colorway only.
B. Assign to all colorways by linking color chips to change simultaneously
Apply to all colorways, but if the fabric is the same for each colorway, selecting a color chip will automatically select the same fabric across colorways.
C. Assign to all colorways by unlinking color chips so they change separately
Apply to all colorways, but each colorway is a different fabric.
FAQ
Q1. When I add a different item to existing colorways, I cannot seem to edit them individually. How can I solve this problem?
When adding a different item to existing colorways, they will be added with the same properties. If you wish to change properties in individual colorways, right-click on the color chip, then select 'Unlink All Colorways' to make individual edits.
Q2. When I save a colorway file from the updated version and open it in a lower version, the colorway information disappears. How can I solve this issue?
The new colorway format is not compatible with lower versions. As the colorway feature will be updated continuously, we recommend using the latest version.
Q3. The Colorway Editor seems to be slower than in previous versions. Why is that?
Each colorway consists of different items, which requires more time to update. However, we are continuously working on improving the speed issue, and incremental improvements will be made.
