In the process of Live Update or alternately using multiple CLO versions, various files and settings that make up the CLO software may be damaged, causing the CLO software to not operate normally.
You can solve this problem by completely uninstalling the CLO software and configuration files and then reinstalling with the latest CLO installer.
Note
- Only the files and settings that make up the CLO software are deleted, and user-created files are remain.
- Before uninstalling the CLO software, please back up your files safely.
- If you have changed the CLO install path, find the path and delete it.
Windows
1 Logging out of CLO Software or deactivating from website
- Under the CLO Settings menu, select Logout or Deactivate License.
- Deactivate CLO from website
2 Uninstall CLO software
- Go to Windows Start > Settings > Apps or Installed Apps > CLO Software and click Uninstall.
- If you have installed different product types or multiple versions, uninstall all CLO software using the above method.
3 Delete Registry
- Windows Search > Type 'Registry Editor' > open as administrator > delete the CLO registry.
- Path: Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\CLO Network OnlineAuth
- In the case of individual user version, it is displayed as ~\CLO Standalone OnlineAuth.
- If you don't see the CLO product name in the Windows Registry, all have been deleted.
- Note that deleting the CLO product key from the Windows Registry will make CLO behave as if it was installed for the first time. If you want to completely reset user settings of the CLO software, you can use the method of deleting only the registry keys of CLO.
4 Delete CLO install folder and Assets folder
- Even after deleting the program, additional downloaded files and some configurations may remain.
- The default install path is C:\Program Files\CLO{product name}, select and delete the entire CLO folder.
5 Delete CLO Assets folder from Windows shared folder
- The default install path is C:\Users\Public\Documents\CLO, select and delete the entire CLO folder.
6 Delete hidden CLO files
- Some CLO configuration files are stored as hidden files.
- Go to Windows File Explorer > Options > Folder Options.
- Select 'Show hidden files' as shown below and click the 'Apply to Folders' button.
- Go to C:\Users\{Windows user name}\AppData\Local, select the CLO folder and delete it.
Mac
1 Logging out of CLO Software or deactivating from website
- From the SETTINGS Menu, Log Out or Deactivate License of CLO. The application will Quit.

2 Uninstall CLO software
- Open the MAIN APPLICATION folder on your computer. NOT the Application folder in
the User Folder. - Find the CLO, Right-Click & Move to Trash. Only do this if you want to fully uninstall CLO.
3 Delete CLO Assets folder
- To remove all the CLO Assets, go into your DOCUMENTS Folder. Delete the CLO
Folder there.
4 Delete hidden CLO files
- Go to your HOME Folder, use Column & navigate to the Go Menu. Note the
contents on the menu and in the items in the Home folder. Release the menu.
- Type SHIFT + COMMAND + PERIOD (.) this will activate hidden items.
- A few things will show up in the Applications folder. Return to the Go Menu and note
that “LIBRARY” is now visible and there are more Items available in the Home folder.
Some are dimmed. These are items that are normally hidden. - Go into the LIBRARY folder and delete the CLO folder under the APPLICATION SUPPORT folder.
- Next, still in the Library, go into Preferences.
- Select all the files that begin with COM.CLO. (The full name will differ depending on
which version of the software you downloaded and installed). - Right-Click on one of the selected files and Move to Trash.
- Empty your Trash.

If you have deleted only the CLO Preferences files, when you start CLO again it will be as if it is opening for the first time; you will need to input your login information, add your Favorites to the Library and customize your User Settings.
