Efficiently layout patterns and check fabric consumption to use the least amount of fabric. 
 

Switch Mode

1. Switch to Print Layout mode on the top-right corner of CLO.

2. Click the Rotate button at the bottom-right corner to switch the marker orientation between Vertical and Horizontal.
   → In Vertical mode, Width runs along the X-axis and Length along the Y-axis, while in Horizontal mode, the axes are swapped.
   → Pattern placement and grainline alignment are preserved during the switch.

Nest Patterns

All Fabrics 

1. Click the Nest Pattern tool in the toolbar. 
   → Patterns are efficiently placed on the fabric and the calculated value is displayed. 
    
2. Click the Stop Nesting tool in the toolbar. 

Current Fabric

Selectively re-nest a specific fabric while preserving the results of other fabrics.

1. Click and hold Nest All Fabrics tool to switch to Nest Current Fabric tool. 
   → Only the selected fabric in Print Layout Editor will be nested. All other fabrics will remain unchanged.

📝 Note: 

• Directly click the pattern ▶ Drag it within the set fabric width to place it or place the pattern using Align and Distribute.
• Instead of waiting for nesting to complete, stop directly at any point in time to place patterns to save nesting time.
• The number of calculations varies depending on the number of patterns. Higher counts give optimal arrangement results, 
  but larger numbers of patterns require more calculations and take more time. Moving one space of the progress bar means that once the calculation has been completed. 

Nest Option

CLO automatically identifies the visual characteristics of textures and prints, and optimizes Nesting to ensure continuity with maximum efficiency.

1. Set how the pattern is matched by right-clicking on it in Print Layout mode or under Fabric in the pattern properties in Simulation mode.

   Option	Description
   Texture Based	CLO automatically detects the texture placement on each pattern and nests them with optimal efficiency by ensuring texture alignment. The same arrangement is consistently applied across all sizes based on how the patterns are stacked.
   Print Based	Similar to the above Texture-Based Matching, but with the added Print.
   Lock in Place	Locks the Base Size placement in Print Layout as is, while the remaining patterns follow the Texture-Based concept.

📝 Note:  When Pattern Matching is set, the texture movement is restricted when using Edit Texture tool to prevent misalignment.
However, the restriction on texture movement can be unlocked using the Pattern Matching Lock option under Fabric in the pattern properties in Simulation mode if needed.  

Nest Settings

1. Click the Nest Setting tool in the toolbar. 
   → Nesting Options appear in the Property Editor.
    

2. Set each property.

   Menu		Description
   Nesting	Number of Garment	Nest grading patterns on the fabric for mass production. By clicking the Select Grading button, manually set the size and quantity(amount) of the grading patterns to be nested.  📝 Note:  Different colors can be displayed for each grading size on the fabric and you can check the size names. ( Watch Video) • Display grading colors: 2D Pattern Display » Show Grading Random Color icon • Display grading names: 2D Information Display » Show Grading Size icon
   		Group Each Sizes	Click the Group Each Sizes option to nest patterns by grouping the graded sizes separately. ( Watch Video)
   	Colorway	Nest patterns of all colorways on the fabric or click Select Colorway on the right to place only the selected colorway on the fabric.
   	Grain Direction	1-way	Place the pattern in one orientation along the original grain direction
   		2-way	Place the pattern in the opposite orientation that is 180 degrees from the original orientation to achieve optimized results.
   		4-way	Place the pattern in four different orientations that are each 90 degrees from the original orientation to achieve optimized results.
   	One Bundle One Direction	OFF(Default)	Patterns within the same size/bundle can be placed in different orientations (randomly) to achieve maximum fabric efficiency.
   		ON	All pattern pieces belonging to a single size (one bundle) will be restricted to the same orientation. While the nest as a whole uses 2-way or 4-way logic, each individual garment bundle maintains a consistent direction.
   	Buffer Spacing	Set non-uniform spacing on each side of the pattern. • Left / Right — Set the buffer value along the width axis. • Top / Bottom — Set the buffer value along the length axis. Click the Link icon to apply a uniform value to all four sides at once. Use the color chip or hex input to set the outline color. ※ Note: The buffer remains anchored to the pattern when rotated.
   	Pattern Dimension	Actual	Place the pattern in its actual size.
   		Shrinkage /Growth	Place the pattern with the shrinkage rate applied.
   	Preferred Outline	Set the boundary line for nesting. 📝 Note:  Add shrinkage line and delete baseline from ver 2026.1.
   	Seam Allowance Position	Set the seam allowance position on the original pattern or shrinkage pattern.  📝 Note:  This feature is disabled if fabric shrinkage is not applied.
   Information	Unit	Set the units.
   	Fabric	Width	Adjust the width of the fabric.
   		Length	Check the total length of the fabric on which the pattern is placed.
   		Marker Length	Set the length of the fabric manually to nest the pattern only up to the length of the set fabric. ( Watch Video)
   	Efficiency	Consumption	Based on 100% of the total fabric, the fabric area consumed for the pattern is calculated as %
   		Remnant	The remainder after subtracting the area consumed by the pattern is calculated as a %.
   	Area	Pattern Placed	Check the pattern area placed on the fabric.
   		Remnant	Check the remaining area where no pattern is placed.

Auto-Arrange Labels

1. Click the Auto-Arrange Labels tool in the toolbar. 
   → Annotations and information labels dynamically shift and rearrange themselves inside their respective pattern outlines.
   
   ✨Tip: Use the Edit Annotation tool to customize text or formatting in advance before auto-arranging.

Manual Nesting

1. Click the Manual Nesting tool in the toolbar. 
   → Activate the mode in which patterns can be arranged and packed together without overlapping. All patterns stay inside the fabric roll boundary.
    
2. Arrange patterns using any of the following interactive controls.
   • Free Move: Press and drag patterns directly with the mouse cursor.
   • Nudge Move: Select the desired patterns and press the Arrow keys on your keyboard to shift them incrementally.
   • Switch Selection: While a pattern is selected, press Shift + Arrow key to instantly cycle through and select neighboring patterns for rapid editing.
      

Reset Default Arrangement

1. Click the Reset Default Arrangement tool in the toolbar. 
   → Patterns are reset to the initial arrangement state. 

Snapshot

1. Click the Snapshot tool in the toolbar. 
   → 2D Snapshot pop-up window appears.   
    

2. Set the size along with other options for the snapshot. 

   Option	Description
   Size	Preset	Select from a variety of presets.
   	Orientation	Select the paper orientation.
   	Width	Set the width of the image.
   	Height	Set the height of the image.
   	Unit	Set the unit of the print paper.
   	Resolution	Set the resolution of the snapshot image.
   Add'l Information	Select the information that will appear in the Print Layout 2D snapshot.
   Line Options	Select the line that will appear in the Print Layout 2D snapshot.
   	Line Style	Adjust the style of line to default Solid Line, Dotted Line, or Dashed Line.
   	Line Color	Adjust the color of line.
   Show Images	Select the image that will appear in the Print Layout 2D snapshot.
   	Fabric Texture Opacity	Adjust the opacity of the fabric and texture.
