1. Select the notch using the  Notch tool in the 2D toolbar. 
    

2.  Set notch properties as needed.

   Option	Description
   Name	Change the name for the notch.
   Type	Select the notch shape.
   	T
   	V
   	I
   	L
   	U
   	Box
   Angle	Perpendicular	Notch is placed perpendicular to the line.
   	Custom	Arbitrarily decide in what angle the notch is created based on the line.
   Length	Edit notch length as needed. This option appears or disappears according to the notch setting under Settings  ▶ User Settings ▶ 2D. The notches export in the configured size.
   Direction	Decide in which direction the notch is created. This option is activated only when the notch is created at a corner.
   	Point (Center)	Notch is created at the center of two lines making the corner.
   	Segment 1	Notch is shifted towards a line.
   	Segment 2	Notch is shifted towards the other line.
   Notch Placement	Decide where the notch is located on the Seam Allowance.
   	Point (Center)	Notch is located at the center.
   	Seamline Extension	Notch is located and extended from the pattern outline.
   	Point Perpendicular	Notch is located and perpendicular to the segment point. 📝Note: Available only in combination with Direction in Point (Center).
   	Seam Allowance Perpendicular	Notch is located and perpendicular to seam allowance. 📝Note: Available only in combination with Direction in Point (Center).
   Flip	Flip the notch to the other side of the line.
   Lock	Fix the notch position when moving the point of the pattern outline to where the notch was created.
   	Lock Position	When setting the notch's fixed position, select the position of the reference point.
   	Start/End Point	Set the position to fix the notch.
   Grading Distance	Decide the notch's grading mode. Use Edit Grading tool to set the notch distance.
   	Ratio	The notch starting position is moved proportionally on each size grading.
   	Fixed ( Watch Video)	Instead of moving the notches proportionally with the grading size, it fixes them in a specific position.  It can be set when importing DXF files.
   	Fixed Start Point	All notches’ starting points are fixed based on the first size.
