Graphics card memory

Hi All, I would like to know what is the minimum memory for the Graphics Cards that is good enough? I saw on the recommendation that 32GB is great, but is it really necessary to have 32Gb? Card prices are very high so I wanted to check if 8Gb or 16Gb would be enough.
