slash& spread to move darts

Hello!

I am trying to create basic torso sloper while rotating the waist dart and move it to the shoulder using fullness tool in 5.2

an error message pops up and showing patterns are overlapping, which is what I was trying to do.

Are there other ways to achieve this?

  Hello Helen! :)
  
  Its always easier to answer when you attach a picture. But I think indeed your pattern pieces are overlapping.

  What you can do: draw an internal line from the top of your waistdart to the shoulder and then cut & sew this line. Then you can merge your pattern pieces and the dart is in the soulder now.
  I always use this method to rotate darts. I think its more precise.

   

  Draw internal line

  

  Cut and sew

  

  Merge if so desired

  Hey guys, 

  Just to save you some precious time, you now have a way to do it faster.

  When you select both side of your dart you do a right clic and you have rotate dart

  

   

  And then you can select where you want your dart and move it 

   

  

   

  Hope this will help you save somme time :)
