Folding (concealed) button placket

Hello CLO community,

I need help with constructing a button placket. I am working on the replication of an existing shirt dress.

Its buttonplacket is folded, and that's how I did it with the pattern piece in CLO. Of course I set the corresponding sewing line types to turned.
But I dont like the effect. The fold line is too crisp on the placket edge and too puffy towards the to the top of the placket. When I take out the fold rendering it gets too puffy also
& I don't want to use the "double sided" effect either, because it doesn't look like folded / like real.

Does anyone know a better way or sees a mistake?

  Hello skueffne, for the fold line try to change the angle value till you reach the result you want,( something around 20)
  For the puffy effect lower the thickness collision value, around 0,5 could work good.
  Sometimes I also change the rendering thickness value in this pieces.

  ifashion, you could also try to have a single piece of placket instead of a folded one and adding thickness. If you don't need to follow the in-real-life construction method, I know you can get better results with that.

  Thanks both for your quick help!

  Playing with the collision values & also giving the unfolded single placket a chance gave me a much better result!

  You can use  a folded pattern. However > The only way to get a knife edge on the fold is to set the fold angle low and then also  'zero' out (0) the force on the fold (it's default is 5 ). The tip for it's use on knife folds is in the manual. Often missed - always set it to 0 force for crisp edges on placards.

  

  zero fold strength will give a knife edge on any folded cloth
