elastic fabric

The first 3 parameters in the physical settings of the fabric. Minimize.
    1. Weft thread horizontal direction.
    2. warp thread vertical direction.
    3. Shear Direction along the oblique 45 degrees

hi thanks for the replay...what I would like to ask is how I can understand the exact meaning of the number. what I mean is how I can understand if the number that I set is representing the elasticity that I need. how I can understand how I can set this value in the right way to create the fabric. or there is any way to buy in the market place a fabric that is close to a lycra fabric for swimsuit? because at the moment I can't really find a good range of elastic fabric in the lybrary

    thanks

Arianna, unfortunately the library doesn't have a way to express the level of elasticity of a certain fabric. This is true in commercial situations in real life, where you most likely just now the composition of the fabric and you'll have to test by hand how elastic it is.

My suggestion is to find a fabric that has spandex and polyester and test inside CLO. Many people have done swimsuits here and they look really good if you know how to work with CLO. What I'm trying to say is that expand your CLO knowledge first testing and then fix on the fabric.

Hi i arlerady used a 3d program the name is Assist Vidya that is actually very similar to this one. now actually I am a swimsuit pattern maker and sorry but is possible to understand the elasticity because every fabric have a technical sheet that show exactly the elasticity. now in the other program there was a way to understand and calculate the value elasticity of a fabric and than put it in the program. is there any way to do the same here?

Don't be sorry about knowing how to find the elasticity of a fabric on a technical sheet. I meant, commercially you generally don't have access to that info, not at a fashion industry level. That being said, the video below might help you understand better how the translation from real life fabrics is done to CLO's sliders. I don't think there is a specific value for elasticity but a combination of several.
