Clothing always simulates very tight

Hi all,

 

This is an issue I have been running into for a while now and can't seem to figure it out. Whenever I make my own patter for something and drape it, it just ends up looking like stretch/tight fabric on my avatar. For example, in the pic below I was trying to make swimming trunks. I think the pattern is pretty wide, but when I simulate it on my avatar it just hugs his legs. Making the bottom wider barely changes anything. I tried various materials and particle distances to no success. Any tips here? I want the shorts to look like attached pic.

  Hi there dplokhikh.

  Your pattern is wrong. You should spend some time learning pattern making. There are plenty of free patterns online for something simple as a swim trunk.

  as Pablo pointed out the problem is in the pattern. It totally missed the crotch point shape.
  It must be more like the image below.
  As you can see in your picture there's a seam in the center of the garment that runs from front to back.
  For swimming competition bath suit sometime it is missed but they usually have an internal leg tassel.
  Brose google image and you can have an idea.
