Is there a way to optimize or control the polygon count of the Avatar and the Garments before exporting?

The polygon amount of the avatars cannot be changed. You can control the amount of polygons of any garments by lowering or increasing the Particle Distance, setting the mesh from triangles to quads, and setting the Topstitches from OBJ (adding to the count) to Texture (not adding to the count).
