puckering renders unpredictably - doesn't show sometimes

Hi all,

Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong here - I'm finding that puckering shows up well in the 3D window but is either really extreme or doesn't show up at all in the rendered view. I've tried tinkering with puckering intensity in render settings but this doesn't help show up the (invisible) puckering at all. I've also tried different values on the puckering itself but with no success. I also find the puckering tool has wildly varying affects on the same garment with the same settings - why is this?

 

Also - less important but just wondering - is there a downloadable package of denim seam treatments like twin needle highs and lows, hems and seam edges, to save us all creating our own wash effects from scratch?

 

If anyone can help I'd really appreciate it - thanks so much. Here's what I'm talking about with it not showing up in the render window:

  are you able to share an image of your Puckering settings in the Property Editor?
