Internal Line not showing up on top?

Hello I am trying to make an internal rectangle so i can simulate a distressed look in that area.

when i try to make the internal line over the area it looks like this, and also won't allow me to sew anything when i select "clone as pattern" in that area. I want it to go over, not underneath.

  Hi emraxxx, you are facing this issue because your pattern pieces are cut already. When adding the internal shape it just belongs to one pattern piece. I would recommend you to merge the cut pieces, then add the internal shape and cut them again. The internal shape will be cut automatically then.
