Trace tool is NOT working

So all of my points are closed but when i right click using the trace pattern tool NOTHING happens, meaning the pop up that ive seen on multiple tutorials and youtube videos doesnt even show up . please help what am I doing wrong?

  Hello guys i solved it all i had to do was change my mouse settings all love <3

  Settings > user settings > view controls > pop-up menu.
