Add external motion file (BIP/BDH) to existing avatar OR fix mixamo animation
Hi!
I'm a fairly new user to CLO3D and I'm wondering weather it's possible to add a motion (such as running) from an external source to the already rigged avatar in CLO?
More specifically a BIP, BDH or mocap?
Or does anyone know how I can avoid the problems that occur in the mixamo-process?
since it's a pretty basic rigging-process, the animated result in the joint areas are slightly wonky.
Like the elbow area. It's acting more like a "tube" that is bent, rather than a body.

Is there anything I can do to fix it in CLO?
Thanks beforehand

Hi ritaroslin,
Unfortunately there is no complete solution to this problem at the moment. You can try experimenting with the joints a little while rigging in Mixamo. Apart from that this is the best result one could achieve.
Maybe in the near future with the ongoing developments in CLO there could be a solution/ improvement with regard to this.
Hope that answers your question.

Alright!
I'll keep experimenting with mixamo for now then, and dream about a (hopefully near) future with no wonky elbows.
Thanks for the answer!0 -
If the model doesn't have weight painting on the limbs then you are going to get this issue. It's not really an application for animation nor rigging. Yes you can throw a track for the 3D mesh into CLO3D and record it with cloth collision and that is your best step forward. Do the rig, weight painting of the skin and the animation outside, then import the model and mesh cache (vertex) data and record a cloth collision track > spit that back out to your animation pipeline and off you go. Use the right toolset for the process and then you can get on with the job to hand, no need to wait for any near future developments just use the right pipeline.
