transforming pattern in 3D
Hi everyone! I am sure my silly novice question will find a quick exaustive answer from some of the veterans, I tried to look around for solution but no luck so far.
I want to be able to re-scale stitched project in the 3D window directly. I know is possible in 2D but the result is that I get some element scaled with a different ration and displaced from their relative position, the mess is also reflected in the 3D window with patterns blown allover. If I try then to run the simulation without rearranging patterns the program crash. I am asking because I am using a quite good amount of patterns and I wish to basically change scale of the full object at once rather then reimport the scaled illustrator and having to rearrange the full story from the beginning.
thank you so much for your time

Thank you guys,
I don't have an avatar, I have this composition and I need to scale it up. Here are the screenshots:
- first one as is before scaling
- second one after trying to scale in 2D, some patterns are bocoming bigger and in 3D everything is messed up
I hope I explained my issue well

Why not start with the patterns already at the correct size, then stitch them, position them in the 3D Window and then simulate?

Often times we start a pattern in one size, then scale it to create the other sizes. I've also had the results the op is mentioned and it can be a real pita to have to rearrange and resew it all. Especially if it was a complex garment or accessory with various layers that end up colliding if they aren't just right. I'm working on dog hats that require elastic paracord along the chin-strap and re-sewing that particular part of the garment can be tricky. Hope this can be resolved sometime soon, it would make my like easier :)

HI elyannie
Have you taken a look at our Youtube series. We have video about GRADING and GRADE REVIEW mode that I believe will help you

Thanks I'll take a look at it. If you are refering to the "redrape 3D arrangement" feature I get an error message that it only works on a simulated garment. Not sure why it says that. Perhaps because I'm not scaling with an avatar?

When you stated ... working on .... design of .... > 'dogs hats' < .... that kind of changes the auto-grade garment dynamic. CLO3D's algorithm is based on clothing for human bipeds, so it's not really geared to the headspace of mankinds 4 legged friends. So you would generally apply your own specific 'niche' category grade 'rule' charts for a - non biped product genre - like dog thinking caps. I would think using the 'scale' or pattern warp/weft % shrinkage setting are the best options.
