About adjust collar silhouette

Hi joylee thanks for your inquiry! I would first suggest getting rid of some of your internal lines, this may help the collar fold more naturally.  I would keep 1 line as the main fold line. Once your collar is set, I would completely delete or remove Fold Rendering from the internal line. If you have not already, changing your mesh shape from triangle to quad mesh can also be helpful in getting your collar to lay well. To change the mesh shape, select your collar piece, and under the Miscellaneous drop down at the bottom of the Property Editor, there is an option to change Mesh Type. Lastly, Strengthening the collar acts as a temporary starching. If you want a more natural flow to the fabric, I would also try to Unstrengthen your collar piece.

The way I deal with collars is by using one internal line as the folding line, making the collar quads instead of triangles in the mesh, fold, make sure I have the collar tips in the right place, pin the collar tips and maybe the center back part so it stays put, reduce the particle distance to 2 mm, then delete the internal line (folding line) so I can simulate and allow the fabric to round a few where the folding line was. When I'm satisfied stop simulation and freeze.

You are using just too many internal lines which split the underlying mesh (polygons). You can see that with Alt+5.

Now, there is another alternative and it is the Modular configurator where you can drop a collar in, which is already folded neatly, and then modify the shape if necessary.

Thank you for the detailed comment!  Based on advice, I made a naturally turned collar.

If you don't mind, I want some more advice... In the opposite direction to the current silhouette, I would like to make a collar silhouette with a slightly voluminous curve like a reference image.

joylee, the curve you see in your collar is the result of gravity pushing it downward. I would try with a stiffer fabric, bonding or strengthening your current piece. Because the piece is already bent, I'd start again before simulating. The collar before simulation is the flattest you'll get it. It requires finessing from your side.

Use steam to 'relax' the mesh (stretch) in the area you want the more gentle curve, then apply solidify to hold it's shape. You also need to place in the bonding to stiffen the collar and edge tape on the leading edge to make it curve gently. Apply the quad mesh to the pattern and standard negative pressure and tack the collar corners to the shirt to hold the fullness, hold bend and crease.

    5 minutes max.
