Ho do I sew an overlapping box pleat?

Hi, im trying to sew a box pleat at the side of a skirt that overlaps and cannot work out the sewing relationship to allow it to overlap correctly and sit in the waistband? can anyone help? I have created it from 2 knife pleats and I have gotten as far as the picture below but I have tried every sewing relationship I can think of to now attach to the waistband but just cant get it to lay nicely, it either buckles or the RHS closest to the CF overlaps when I need the LHS closest to the side seam to be the overlapping pleat.  I have searched online but cannot find any info for these more complicated pleat types, can anyone help?

  Dear katey,

  By buckling up, do you mean that this part looks blown up?

  When you are using the pleats sewing tool, seamlines placed on pattern edges will automatically be set to turned:

  

  This gives a look of two pattern pieces lying flatly on top of each other where they are sewn together.

  However, if you add seamlines freehand, you have to turn them where necessary. I assume you would be using a mixture of the pleats sewing tool and free sewing?

  Hi, Thanks for your help.  The seams were already turned, but the layers were pushing through each other.  I seem to have resolved the issue by part sewing the outer edge to the waistband and reducing the particle distance, I think maybe the particle distance was causing the simulation issue.  Seems ok now
