Import AI/PDF File and use as a pattern

    Hi sanfrancali

Are you able to add a screenshot for us to see what might be happening?

One thing might be is that the individual pattern shapes were not "closed" in Illustrator. If all of the points are not closed creating one complete shape clo will not be able to read the patterns. You will need to go back into Ai and make sure all Segment Points are connected.

Or you can Trace over the outlines in CLO in and then Convert the Internal lines into a pattern piece. This video HERE from our Youtube shows this method

Thank-you so much for your reply. Attached is the AI/PDF file I'm trying to use as a pattern piece in Clo.

I think I can trace it -- but i'm not able to detach the yellow frame around the shape i'm trying to import.

How do you recommend i do this?

    Thanks for your help!

    Hi sanfrancali

    I have a few questions.

Did you apply the pattern as a graphic? or did you go to file > import > Adobe (Ai/PDF)

Did you check all of the pattern points to double check that they are connected and not just overlapping?

    Hi CLO Designers

I tried all the options for file import. Ie. graphic, internal shape and baselines.

Yes, all the pattern points are connected. Do you think it might be an issue from darts?

HI. For patterns from Ai you should only be using the Adobe (ai/pdf) option. Then Base lines/Internal depending on if you have internal pattern marking. But not graphic since this is a pattern.

Without looking at the file it is hard to see what might be happening. I would recommend either reaching on our Contact Us page on clo3d.com or if you are familiar with Discord join our channel there for further assistance. A guide to join is HERE
