Replace/Update 2D Pattern
Hello,
I am working on 3D versions of garments based on dxf files that are created and revised independently. Therefore I need to update 2D patterns of projects that I am working on. For now I redo all the work (sewing, adjustments..) at each pattern update. Is there a way to replace a pattern without losing seams and other adjustments done before ?
Thanks in advance for your support,
Marie

Hi Marie,
Thank you for your question. At this moment, the patterns revised from other 2D CAD cannot interact with the patterns in CLO as they are unlinked.
We recommend users editing the patterns in CLO directly, then you can have the most updated patterns and can review the garment result in 3D window immediately.
After editing the patterns in CLO, you can export the revised patterns from CLO to other 2D CAD as DXF for further development and production.

To be clear here, if I import an updated pattern and want to swap out a piece because it's slightly updated, is that possible within CLO? Otherwise, I have to delete the piece and then redo all the sewing, topstitching, any other pieces attached to it, buttons/snaps, etc, etc. Would be lovely to just swap out and keep the details.

I have a pattern in CLO that is graded and I'm importing a dxf of an updated version of the same file (some pieces are changed for shape) but if I replace only one piece and it has a slightly different grade then the sizes won't walk off correctly with the remaining unreplaced pieces that sew to it, right? So instead of replacing all the pieces , in the Grade Tab (under Object Browser) there are two sets of size ranges now, so do I simply assign the size range of the newer file to ALL the pieces of the older file so that the new grade applies to all the pieces without having to replace them all?0
