Garment is Floating
I have looked at all the relevant posts about this and triple checked my settings that would cause an issue like this but still cannot figure it out.
First example is a t-shirt I am following along with to express lace fabric and using the files provided. My first attempt is when I created a floating t-shirt. I have run into this problem before that I will mention later. Other posts about this issue have suggested to look at the following settings which I have. After not being able to figure out this issue, I redid the project over and was able to create a non-floating tshirt, but the mystery still remains as to why this happened to begin with the first time.
- Simulation Properties > Pressure (this is set to 0)
- Simulation Properties > Add'l thickness - Collision (this is set to 2.0 default)
- Avatar Surface> Skin Offset (this is set to 0.0)
- Turn on Hi-Res simulation (I have simulated normal and Hi-Res and both have this floating issue)
The other time I ran into this issue when I added a trouser project file that I downloaded from WGSN to style with a hat. Before adding the trousers, my hat simulated without issues. As soon as I add the pants and simulate, both garments distort and get wonky with some parts of it trying to float or bubble up.

It looks like there is more than one avatar there. Start a new project and copy the patterns into it.

Hi sacdesign. I agree with Pablo that you most likely have a second invisible Avatar in the scene. You can figure this out by either Toggling On/Off the show Avatar option in the 3D Vertical Toggle menu. Or Go to the Scene Tree Tab in the Object Browser and look to see if there are multiple avatars in your scene

thank you so much that was it! i was accidentally importing a garments avatar on top of the garment itself. deleting the invisible avatar fixed my problem
