how can I cancel merge?

Hi oraemirae. If you have just merged two pieces together you should be able to just undo the last move (ctrl + z). But if the merge happened several steps ago and you do not want to go back that far you can use a few different methods.
-If there is an Internal Line (Red) where the two pieces were Merged use the Edit Pattern Tool > R-Click on the Internal Line > Select Cut or Cut & Sew depending on desired result
-If there is inly a Base line you can use the Trace Tool which allows you to select Base Lines (Purple) and then follow the same steps as above
-If there is no Internal Line or Base line to select you will have to Add an Internal Line using the Internal Polygon/Line tool first. Then you will be able to select and Cut
