How do you draw and edit on 2d pattern window without having lines connected? I want to draw out pattern with free lines and then connect them when im done.

Unfortunately you can't in CLO. You have to have closed pieces. Maybe try in other CAD software or Illustrator, and then bring the closed pieces into CLO.

Pandavid, We do this all the time for pattern drafts that are used in sportwear dye sublimation printing off a master graded template. Start with a rectangle shape and use the internal line darfting tool to create your block pattern line construction > then use the trace to pattern tool. CLO3D created the trace tool so you can use that process into patterns.
You can retain the texture UV map position if you start with a fabric sheet in your 2D drafting workspace that is larger than your pattern (eg: vector print work changed into raster image at the same size as the rectangular start pattern. Or if you are placing vector or DXF line work into the drafting just import it and then copy to the rectangle pattern you are drafting on.
