Avatar Editor Measurements Grayed Out with Custom Avatar?
Hello,
I have a custom avatar that I saved as an Avatar File (.avt), when I go to the Avatar Editor all the measurements are grayed out.

Dthai, when you say custom avatar, you mean a CLO avatar or an external OBJ converted to an *.avt file? If the second, you can't use the Avatar Editor in CLO. You have to edit your avatar outside CLO.

Hi Pablo,
External OBJ first converted to FBX to change poses and add a skeleton then changed to .avt file. (No avatar measurement lines show up).
What software would allow me to modify avatar measurements?
Kind of defeats the purpose of a custom avatar then...

Well, the custom avatar not being able to be rigged inside CLO is not at all disappointing. I would say it would be a great achievement if CLO could do that automatically. I don't think any other software out there can take any OBJ file and auto-rig it. It is always a manual process mostly,
They way most of us do this is by using external software to rig the avatar manually (Blender) or use software that has avatars that are rigged like in DAZ. In DAZ you can buy the body morph packages and modify your measurements there. You can then import the OBJ and check with the tape in CLO. I know is cumbersome, but I guess is the cheaper way.
There are other more expensive alternatives. You can do a search for avatar body measurements here in the forums and you will find long discussions about this same topic and more resources.

Does the term rigging include setting measurements? I thought rigging an avatar meant to add a skeleton to it.
I did rig the the original avatar from an OBJ to an FBX in an external program. Rigging wasn't the problem, setting custom measurements for custom avatar.

The skeleton will allow you to proportionally move or scale the mesh, which is what at the end allows you to change the dimensions. Once rigged you can change measurements but in the external editor (not in CLO). The Avatar Measurement sliders in CLO are connected in a certain way (which I'm not fully knowledgeable) to the the avatar's skeleton.
Bottomline is that you can only change measurements of non-CLO avatars outside of CLO. Did you check DAZ3D. I believe that is a good and almost free alternative.

I did not check out DAZ3D, but will do so now. Free? Sounds good to me. :)

For your task, you need to have your own avatar with adjustable size. You need to have 3 avatars. Basic size, and 2 morphs up and down. I myself did not do this, but I know the person who collected these avatars in the older version. In new avatars this does not work. Let me remind you that in older versions, digital values were not displayed in the settings menu, I had to control the measurements in a 3D window.
If we are not talking about older versions of the avatar, from 2011, when the numerical values were in the avatar editor.0
