POMs not saving

I am working on a file and wanted to save it under the same name as another file (replacing it). When I did this, all of my POMs disappeared. I now need to re-create all of the POMs. Please let me know if this is usual or not.

  Dear mary, this is unusual and should not happen from oversaving a file. When you opened the original file, did it show a window that the POMs have been created in an older version and will therefore be deleted? (This is a side effect of the improved POM function in 7.1.)
