    Hello d3garment -

Are you trying to put that smaller diagonal shape as an internal shape on the large blue piece? Just trying to clarify what you are trying to accomplish. But in the meantime, I have a few thoughts that might help you.

OPTION 1: You can select just the diagonal piece with the Transform Pattern tool and choose "Clone as Internal Shape". This will give you the outline of your diagonal shape on your cursor, and you need to left click once to set it down somewhere on the intended piece.

OPTION 2: You can use the Trace Tool to "trace" the diagonal shape onto the large blue shape. Steps are below:

    • This is generally easier if you switch to "Transparent Surface" in your 2D window vertical toggle menu
    • Select the diagonal piece with the Transform Pattern tool --> then right click and select "Order" then "Send to Back". This will place the diagonal piece underneath the large blue piece.
    • Using the Trace Tool, you can marquee over or multi-select the segments of your diagonal rectangle piece. Then, you can right click on the highlighted shape and select "Trace as Internal Shape"
    • This will create the diagonal shape on your large blue piece and still keep your diagonal rectangle piece on its own separately.

I hope this helps for now, please let us know if any other questions.
