How can i make a stiff rigid edge on a panel ?

How can i make this edge on this panel be straight and stiff ? this is a back panel for a swimsuit

here is an example of the swimsuit :

 

also is there a way to get a stiffer material ? i gotten it to be stiff, but it still buckles a bit under pressure.

  For something like this you can make a custom OBJ that will remain still. Then attach/insert that item onto the garment to keep the shape like it would on the real garment. 

  You can find a video HERE that shows how to make a simple OBJ from pattern pieces.
